Varanasi Verdict: PM Modi to visit polling district this week, top BJP leaders will also be here

Top Bharatiya Janata Party leaders have started reaching Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi in an effort to ensure polling in all the assembly seats in the district as well as the sixth and seventh in neighboring constituencies. The phases of Uttar Pradesh elections fall in the hands of the BJP.

PM Modi There is also a program to campaign in the constituency. According to senior leaders, he is expected to be in Varanasi on March 4. However, he said the program is tentative.

Some top leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah Will be in Varanasi and will hold a meeting with many intellectuals. Union Education Minister and UP election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan is already in Varanasi.

Sources said that the BJP President JP Nadda Also expected to come this week. The same is the case with Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. “We are expecting from Rajnath Singh. However, we are yet to get the final plan,” said a leader.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal is also likely to reach soon.

Sources said that the BJP leadership is trying to win all the assembly seats. Varanasi District like in 2017 elections.

Several development projects in Varanasi were inaugurated and commissioned by the Prime Minister in the run-up to the elections, including the renovated Kashi Vishwanath Corridor.

Union minister Anurag Thakur is expected to reach here today, while his cabinet colleague and Amethi MP Smriti Irani is expected to reach the polling district on March 3.

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh and Uttar Pradesh General Secretary (Organisation) Sunil Bansal are already in Varanasi.

While many leaders are staying for the night or are coming for a brief program in Varanasi for now, sources said that after the sixth phase of elections is over, there will be a big campaign with focus on Varanasi.

Voting will be held in the seventh and final phase of the UP assembly elections on March 7 in the assembly seats of Varanasi. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
