Vedanta names Holcim executive Sonal Srivastava as CFO

Bengaluru: Indian resources group Vedanta Ltd on Monday named Holcim AG executive Sonal Srivastava as its new chief financial officer, effective June 1.

The move comes as Vedanta’s parent, Vedanta Resources seeks to reduce its debt amid concerns over its ability to meet its financial obligations.

This comes even after Hindustan Zinc Ltd defaulted on a proposed deal to buy zinc assets from Vedanta for $2.98 billion.

Srivastava joins Vedanta from Holcim Group, where she served as CFO for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa operations, Vedanta said in a statement.

Last week, Vedanta reported a 68% fall in fourth quarter profit amid fall in metals prices.
