Vedanta stock gives 20% return in FY23

Vedanta’s annual dividend yield is as high as 20%, which is higher than the returns on traditional investments.

Mining major Vedanta has given a significant dividend yield of nearly 20% to its shareholders since April 2022. As the financial year 2023 is about to end, the company has so far declared four interim dividends for shareholders in the current financial year, amounting to a total of Rs 81 per share.

In general, investing in long-term equity mutual funds gives returns of around 12-14% and now Vedanta shares have also surpassed the returns on mutual fund investments.

PPF interest rates, which are paid quarterly, remain constant at 7.10% per annum. Similarly, the EPF interest rate remains unchanged at 8.10% in FY2023, while bank FD rates increase to 6.50% in FY2022-23.
