India’s dragflicker Gurjit Kaur said the team is committed to qualify for the FIH Hockey Pro League.

We gained a lot of confidence after winning the bronze medal at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. Everyone is constantly improving and we are growing well as a group. Currently, we are fully focused on the FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup. We are very determined to qualify for the FIH Hockey Pro League. We had a great experience in the last edition of the FIH Hockey Pro League and we are all looking forward to getting the opportunity to represent India again in the competition,” said the defender.

Asked if she feels pressure in big matches, Gurjeet said, “Converting penalty corners has been one of my strengths and it is a scoring technique that we use quite often, but I feel pressure while playing a role. I don’t feel as I see. Role as a responsibility. I have always wanted to make high impact for my team and I am glad that I have been able to do that in some important matches.

Gurjeet also said that she is working on improving her dragflicking skills, “The game will constantly change and players around the world keep getting better and so it is important for us to grow as well. I noticed some aspects during the Commonwealth Games which I need to improve and I am working on them in the national camp. I have to keep working on my game and keep getting better as a player and especially as a dragflicker.
