Very proud moment: Mandaviya as India fully vaccinates over 50% of population

India has reached a great milestone vaccination More than 50% of the eligible population against COVID-19. Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya refers to it as a ‘moment of great pride’.

Quoting the news agency, the minister said, ANI“It is a moment of great pride as more than 50% of the eligible population is now fully vaccinated.”

With the administration of 1,04,18,707 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 127.61 crore (1,27,61,83,065) as of 7 am today, as per the provisional report.

This has been achieved through 1,32,44,514 sessions.

Meanwhile, over 1 crore COVID vaccine doses were given for the second time on Saturday. The Health Minister said, “Har Ghar Dastak Abhiyan is in full swing, the world’s largest vaccination campaign is scaling new heights and achieving new achievements under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi.”

The nationwide immunization drive was launched on 16 January with the first phase vaccinating health workers (HCWs). The vaccination of Frontline Workers (FLWs) began on February 2.

The next phase of COVID-19 vaccination began on March 1 for people aged 60 years and above and 45 years and above with specified comorbid conditions.

The country started vaccination for all people over the age of 45 from 1 April.

The government then decided to expand its vaccination campaign by allowing everyone over the age of 18 to be vaccinated from May 1.
