Well, when we heard that Vicky’s ‘Amar Ashwatthama’ has been put on the backburner Ronnie Screwvala As the screenplay required a budget that was not commercially viable in today’s times, it was loudly said that ‘Raazi’ Actor’s next, war hero film Sam Manekshaw, Topic ‘Sam Bahadur‘, will go on floors by the end of this year. The film’s title was unveiled on Sam Manekshaw’s birth anniversary this year. Vicky plays the lead role in the film and is being directed Meghna Gulzari.
Now, ETimes has it that “Sam Valiant” isn’t happening in 2021. It will start sometime in 2022 but the exact month has not been decided.
The reason for the delay is that this film is not easy to put together and pull off. The COVID phase only delayed the preparations and the modalities kept changing.
Says a source, “Ronnie and Meghna have firmly decided that they will go ahead with it once everything is done. It is going to take a few months from now.”
Manekshaw was the chief of the Indian Army in 1971 when India fought the Bangladesh Liberation War with Pakistan.
