Both Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar were in the race for the post of Chief Minister of Karnataka, but it was clear from the beginning that Siddaramaiah had an edge. Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar has worked very hard, invested enormous effort and resources, and has a major stake in the Congress victory, but he has to bide his time. The longevity of Dante will entirely depend on the 2024 Lok Sabha election results, both in Karnataka and at the national level. While former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had a clear advantage in this tussle, the deal is lucrative for DK Shivakumar as well.
