The Aam Aadmi Party has broken the Congress’s 24-year hold on the Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency with a huge margin of over 58,000 votes. Former Congress MLA from Jalandhar West constituency in the last assembly, Sushil Kumar Rinku, who joined AAP in a four-cornered contest, took on his nearest rival, Congress’s Karamjit Kaur, wife of Santokh Chowdhary, who died during Bharat Jodo.
