video | Devotees take a dip in Yamuna on Chhath Puja, poisonous white foam

On the first day of Chhath Puja, devotees taking a dip in the Yamuna river near Kalindi Kunj in Delhi were seen as white, poisonous foam in the river. The water of a river considered sacred is barely visible in the grim scenes shared by news agency ANI. On Chhath – a festival dedicated to the Sun God and celebrated mainly by people from the border regions of Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh – devotees take a holy dip in water bodies and gather during the four-day festival.
