Amid incessant heavy rains in parts of Bihar, an elephant was seen swimming in the Ganges with a mahout on its back on Tuesday. The incident is from Raghopur area of ​​Vaishali. The man got stuck with the elephant due to the sudden rise of water in the Ganges river.

In the video, the elephant is seen trying to cross the fast waters of the river with the mahout on top of it. The animal is completely submerged in water, it looks as if it is drowning. In an instant it also seems that both will not be able to reach the shore. However, in the end the elephant and the mahout are seen reaching a corner of the river where people are seen standing.

talking to ndtvLocals revealed that the elephant swam a kilometer between Rustampur Ghat to Patna Kethuki Ghat. He told that the mahout had come with the elephant on Tuesday, but as soon as the water suddenly increased in the Ganges river, both got trapped.

A boat was needed to rescue the huge animal, however, as the mahout did not have enough money, he decided to cross the river with the elephant. Local people told that the mahout was holding the elephant’s neck by the ear.

Meanwhile, earlier another video of the elephant went viral on the internet, which became a topic of discussion among social media users. The clip shows two elephants and their calves surrounded by groups of people sitting in their cars. The animals were seen getting excited by the spectators who recorded the scene.

This video has got thousands of views on Twitter. Internet users wrote that people should be more considerate of all living beings on the planet. Others also said that there was no need to go so close to the elephants. “They should have stopped and let the elephants pass in peace,” said the netizens.
