Incidents of wild animals straying into human habitations have come to the fore many times before. Now, in one such incident, a video of a tiger roaming in a field in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit district with a farmer plowing his land in the background is going viral on social media.
On Wednesday, user Raj Lakhani shared the clip of the tiger on Twitter. In the clip, the wild cat is seen roaming in the paddy field. A farmer is also seen plowing his land on the tractor as it roams freely in the field.
“This is Pilibhit, UP. A tiger roaming in the field and a farmer plowing the field in the background. Video shot by another farmer,” Mr Lakhani wrote in the caption of the post.

Since being shared, the video has collected over 120,000 views and over 2,000 likes. In the comments section, while some users praised the tiger’s “majestic gait”, others wrote that the clip is a perfect example that shows animals and humans can co-exist.

“Love it when humanity coexists with nature!” A user wrote. “Majestic move!” commented another.
“Not sure whether to smile or cry. On the one hand, it shows a clear attempt at coexistence. On the other, a clear reminder of the loss of habitat and prey. A saying comes to mind ‘the tiger will eat’ Grass, when there’s no choice’!” Expressed a third. “Perhaps inspecting seasonal farming,” said another.
Notably, India is home to over 3,000 tigers. Years of tiger conservation efforts have resulted in an increase in the population of wild cats in the country.
