When asked about the religious slogans raised by the accused after the murder of Ateeq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, Mr. Mahesh Jethmalani, Senior Supreme Court Advocate and Rajya Sabha MP from BJP, said that “Whoever is guilty of killing another human being Celebrates, I condemn it. If he raised Jai Shri Ram slogans while killing the victims, I think it was inappropriate.”
