Registrations have begun for Congress’s pre-poll promise Griha Lakshmi Yojana in Karnataka. The scheme will ensure direct transfer of Rs 2,000 every month to every female head of the household. Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh said in a tweet, “The annual expenditure will be around Rs 30,000 crore and will benefit around 1.26 crore women of the state and their families. This is the biggest financial security scheme launched by any state for the upliftment of women.”
