Dr. Naresh Kumar, Senior Scientist, India Meteorological Department, told NDTV on the progress of the South-West Monsoon in the country that this year’s monsoon has so far covered 80 per cent of India. He said that due to the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal yesterday, the monsoon reached different parts of the country rapidly. Monsoon arrived in Delhi and Mumbai on the same day on Sunday. Dr. Kumar said, this has happened after 62 years.
