In another story of an Indian mother, a Twitter user shared a video of a Telangana woman who rubbed chilli powder on her 15-year-old son’s eyes after she thought her son was getting addicted to marijuana.

A video of a Telangana mother rubbing chili powder in her eyes to punish her son for his marijuana addiction has gone viral on social media. The mother had tied her 15-year-old son with a stick and had resorted to this punishment after all the efforts to free her son from the house. Marijuana were failed.
According to a report by Sakshi, the woman is Ramanamma, a daily wage laborer from Suryapet district. Her husband is a rickshaw puller. The son used to go to school before the pandemic, but later dropped out.
After leaving school, the son became addicted to marijuana and remained there despite several warnings. The report also mentions that the son had gone missing for ten days, before he came back completely intoxicated.
That’s when Ramanamma takes matters into her own hands and decides to come up with a unique treatment for her drug-addicted son. He tied her to a stick and rubbed chili powder on her eyes.
Sakshi’s report states that the video was shot by a neighbor and released on social media. The local police have registered a case against the mother.
Speaking to Sakshi, Ramanamma said that she had to resort to this extreme act after the boy refused to change his ways. He said that they often found him lying on the streets in a drunken state and they would take him back.
The video comes at a time when there was a drug bust in an expensive pub in Hyderabad. Hyderabad Police on Sunday raided a pub in the city’s Banjara Hills for operating beyond its stipulated hours and detained around 150 people, including actor Niharika Konidela and Bigg Boss Telugu Season 3 winner and Tollywood singer Rahul Sipliganj.
Led by the Hyderabad Police Task Force, action took place in the early hours of Sunday at the Pudding and Mink Pub located inside the Radisson Blu Hotel. Three pub owners have been booked under the NDPS Act.
