Video of journalist struggling to pronounce names of South African ministers goes viral on internet

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa recently announced a cabinet reshuffle.

Industrialist Anand Mahindra never ceases to amaze us with his social media posts. The 67-year-old tycoon, who is quite active on Twitter, often shares informative and entertaining posts on all that is trending across the globe. On Monday, he displayed his humorous side as he shared a hilarious video in which a news anchor was struggling to pronounce the names of South African politicians.

Notably, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa recently announced a cabinet reshuffle. Reporting about the same, news anchors on live TV started informing their viewers about the ministers who were elected. He starts announcing their names but fails miserably. In the over 2-minute clip, he mispronounces a lot of names but tries to keep a straight face.

Mr Mahindra shared the undated video and captioned it, “Can someone please tell me this is a comedy show and not a real news bulletin.” Whatever it is, I wish our TV was this entertaining.

Finally, the anchor apologized to his audience and said, “I apologize to you. These names are really hard. I think we need to take a little break.”

Internet users were shocked after watching the video. One user wrote, “The writer of this news must have had some grudge against the reader!!! knew that the reader would not be able to pronounce them and would embarrass himself in front of the audience. & it just happened like this.

Another commented, “The ending part was great and I love the confidence of the anchor.” He was trying his best. From my personal experience I agree that these names are really difficult to pronounce. I can just imagine what would happen if someone from the Indian media needed to pronounce it.
