Video: Udaipur’s tailor killers attacked in court, clothes torn

Udaipur Massacre: Heavy police arrangements were made in the court premises.

In the brutal murder of tailor Kanhaiya Lal, a huge crowd attacked the four accused outside the Jaipur court on Saturday. The mob kicked, slapped and abused outside the court as he was being taken in a prisoner vehicle after being produced before the court.

The clothes of one of the four accused were also torn and the agitated lawyers raised slogans against Pakistan and demanded capital punishment.

The police hurriedly put the accused in the waiting van and saved him from major injuries.

Kanhaiya LaluThe 48-year-old was murdered on Tuesday by two men for supporting suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma. The killers, Riyaz Akhtari and Ghos Mohammed, filmed the murder. Later, he put out another video in which he bragged about the killing and also threatened to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A few hours after the murder, Akhtari and Mohammad were arrested. Two more people allegedly involved in conducting recce of Kanhaiya’s shop and shop alleged conspiracy to kill himLater were also arrested.

The four accused were produced before the National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Jaipur on Saturday. There was heavy policing in the court premises and several lawyers raised slogans like “Pakistan Murdabad” and “Kanhaiya’s killers hanged” (Kanhaiya’s killers should be given death sentence).

The court had on Saturday also given the custody of the killers to the NIA till July 12.
