A large number of women on Saturday protested in front of a police station in Assam’s Dhubri district against the Assam government’s crackdown on child marriage. Security personnel had to resort to lathicharge to disperse women who had gathered to protest in front of Tamarhat police station in Dhubri district. The women demanded the release of their husbands and sons arrested by the police in cases related to child marriage.
