Vikram director Lokesh Kanagaraj reveals his plans for the next film

Lokesh has established himself as a prolific filmmaker in the Tamil industry since his debut with Mananagaram in 2017.

Kamal Haasan recently gifted a Lexus car to Lokesh after the success of Vikram.

An event was held recently in Chennai to thank the exhibitors and distributors after Kamal Haasan’s latest film Vikram became a hit. Kamal Haasan, Udayanidhi Stalin, Lokesh Kanagaraj and music director Anirudh Ravichander attended the success party. On this occasion director Lokesh Kanagaraj announced that after the immense success of Vikram, he will now move on to the next film with confidence. Lokesh revealed that he has started working on the next film in his planned cinematic universe.

Lokesh also said that he was able to take out time to write about his latest hit due to the pandemic. Lokesh said that he had been watching Kamal Haasan’s films from a young age and thus learned to be honest in whatever he did.

Virkum was distributed by Udayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies And at the event Stalin said that the film got a share of Rs 75 crore in Tamil Nadu. The film was released in Tamil Nadu with a ratio of 30 and 70 respectively among exhibitors and distributors.

Vikram, which also stars Kalidas Jayaram, Narayan, Antony Varghese and Arjun Das, was produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raj Kamal Films International. A few days back, Kamal Haasan, surprised by the scintillating reception of the film, gave a Lexus car to Lokesh Kanakraj. He distributed Apache RTR 160 bikes to each of the 13 assistant directors of the film.

Kaithi, featuring Karthi, was her next production which released in 2019 and both did well at the box office. The film earned the director 50 lakhs. The story and writing of the film was praised by fans and critics alike.
