Veteran star Vikram, who was recently seen in Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan 2, has been injured while rehearsing for his upcoming film Thangaalan. According to a tweet by his manager, Vikram is now taking a short break to recover. The tweet expressed gratitude towards the fans who supported Vikram in PS2 and assured them that the actor will be back on the sets at the earliest.

Chien suffered an injury during rehearsals, resulting in a broken rib, which caused him to be unable to join his Thangalan unit for a short period of time. He thanks everyone for your love and promises to get back on his feet as soon as possible and do wonders. From Chiyaan Vikram’s office,” the tweet read along with Vikram’s picture.

Currently, Vikram is enjoying the success of Ponniyin Selvan 2, the second installment based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s popular historical novel Ponniyin Selvan (The Son of Ponni). The film also features Vikram Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha Krishnan, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Jayaram and Aishwarya Lakshmi in lead roles. The sequel to the Ponniyin Selvan franchise hit the theaters on April 28, while Part 1 released in September last year.
Talking about Thangalan, the Vikram starrer is expected to hit the theaters next year. It is written by director Ranjith along with Tamizh Prabha. Apart from them, the action-adventure also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu, Daniel Caltagirone, Harikrishnan and Malavika Mohanan. Thangaalan is centered around the lives of the mine workers of the Kolar Gold Fields in Karnataka.
