A picture of a crab living in the depths of the ocean has stunned the internet. It has been caught by a fisherman and appears to have a full set of “human teeth”. The photo was shared on his Instagram feed by photographer Roman Fedortsov, who works on a fishing vessel in western Russia.
The caption is written in Russian which means, “Crabs… Still, there is something fascinating and repulsive about them. Nature did its best.”
Since being shared almost a week ago, the picture has garnered thousands of likes and several comments.
The crustacean shocked some who commented on the post, while others mocked the crab and left funny comments.
One user wrote, “They are human teeth. Tell me I’m wrong.”
Another said, “Looks like a Pokémon in the final stages of being beaten in battle.”
A third user commented, “Mother Nature loves crabs so much, she keeps cooking more.”
According to his Instagram profile, Mr. Fedortsov has a strange collection of photos of sea creatures.
A spider-like fish that looks like an earthworm and a blob-like creature are all part of his Instagram feed. Other photos show deep-sea creatures swimming freely.
In June, a strange looking rotten sea creature that washed up off a shore in the US made a splash on social media.
Images posted to Reddit by user Christine Tillotson show an animal with needle-like teeth lying dead on a pile of rocks. He seemed to be rotting as parts of his body were peeled off.
Commenting on the pictures, many users speculated as to what it could be. One user wrote, “I guess it’s called aagh!!” Another user speculated that it could be a wolf eel – a species that lives in the North Pacific.
