Viral video: Girl seen using hair straightener inside Delhi Metro, rages on the internet

Needless to say, Delhi Metro has become the lifeline of the city in the last 20 years and is considered to be one of the most convenient modes of transport. However, these days, the Delhi Metro has been in the news for a peculiar reason, mostly related to the unruly and unusual behavior of the commuters. Several videos of random fights, public displays of affection, dance reels and bizarre dressing have surfaced online, leaving people speechless. Now one such video of a woman straightening her hair inside a metro coach has gone viral.

In the video, a girl is seen standing with other passengers and using a straightener. He had plugged the device into the metro’s power outlet which is used for charging phones and laptops. The girl whose face is not visible, seems unconcerned by the presence of others.

A Twitter page shared the video with the caption, “Delhi Metro ki baat hi kuch alag hai.”

Most Twitter users questioned her behavior and criticized her lack of consideration for fellow passengers. One user wrote, ‘Delhi Metro passengers seem to be going out of control! It appears that both the parents and the school failed to teach basic decency and public manners.

Another said, “Metro tyranny… I guess there is no time at home.”

A third sympathized with her and wrote, “This one is so much better than the first one.” We don’t know her personal life, she may be busy, may be there was no electricity in her house when she was getting ready so she got creative. It’s still better.

A few days back, a woman dancing to a Bollywood song inside a busy Delhi Metro coach had created a buzz among social media users. In the video, the woman, dressed in a black transparent top and blue jeans, is seen dancing vigorously on Neha Bhasin and Bappi Lahiri’s song. ‘Assalam-e-Ishkum’,

Addressing such issues, the DMRC said, “Any activity that may cause inconvenience to passengers is strictly prohibited inside the Delhi Metro. Passengers should not indulge in any indecent/obscene activity that may cause inconvenience.” or hurt the sensitivities of other fellow passengers. The Operation and Maintenance Act of DMRC in fact lists misbehavior as a punishable offense under section 59.”
