Viral video shows hungry crocodile trying to attack zookeeper

Gator tries to make the zookeeper’s hand his next meal.

A zookeeper’s swift move saved him from a sudden attack by a hungry crocodile in a viral video. Posted to Instagram by The Reptile Zoo page, it shows a female opening the glass doors of crocodile cages to feed them. The zookeeper asks the crocodiles if they are hungry, and moments later a crocodile named ‘Darth Gator’ tries to jump out of the glass cage to attack him. Gator tries to make the zookeeper’s hand his next meal.

The woman who works at The Reptile Zoo has years of experience handling reptiles and didn’t panic when the gators attacked her. In fact, he laughed it off.

The caption accompanying the video read, “Darth Gator wants to eat wow.”

The video, posted 4 days ago, has garnered 2,68,000 views, over 16,000 likes and tons of comments so far. Social media users were not happy after watching the video, many users also advised them to keep distance. One user wrote, “You talk to them like they’re trying to play with you, when really they want to eat you. These things aren’t cute, or adorable, or cute. They’re prehistoric killing machines.”

Another user wrote, “Don’t forget it’s a wild animal… don’t get too close girl, I like you and keep your distance from what you do.” A third user commented, “Your arms make him look like a chicken.”

“You are very close to these wild animals..what if they attack you someday?” Asked the fourth.

Earlier, a 16-foot crocodile attacked a wildlife park employee in South Africa, who survived. The 660 kg animal attacked the zookeeper, Sean Le Clus, when he was sitting on the back of a crocodile in front of a group of tourists.

Mr Klus was in the middle of a performance inside a pit with two animals with him when suddenly attacked by a Nile crocodile named ‘Hannibal’. The Wild Heart Wildlife Foundation reports that Handler has been caring for Hannibal for 30 years.
