Viral video shows nuclear explosion in virtual reality

A video going viral on the internet shows what it would be like to watch a nuclear bomb explode in virtual reality.

The video, which shows a virtual reality environment, shows a beach on a pleasant day just before the atomic bomb exploded offshore. As soon as this happens, the screen turns white. Within seconds, the entire place is devastated and it appears as if a sand storm has erupted. The vegetation is uprooted and soon a huge cloud of smoke and dust is seen bursting in the middle of the sky. The sky turns purplish at the end of the video, with a nuclear cloud of dust sitting in the middle.

This horrifying one minute, 51 second video was posted on Reddit a few hours ago and has shocked the internet. The video is captioned, “Nuclear explosion in virtual reality environment.”

The clip was originally posted on YouTube and other social media platforms a month ago and is now going viral again.

So far this video has got 89 percent upvotes on Reddit. One user commented, “Everything around must have been blown up or burnt, and a huge wave hit the area and washed away.”

“It’s hard to judge the size or distance, but a 1 megaton explosion gives you a third degree (almost certainly fatal) burn at a distance of 6 miles. The radiation delivered at the point of the explosion will kill you within a month by a distance of 1.5″ Miles. You’re dead in that VR scenario,” commented a fourth user.
