Viral Video: Woman swings on railing, dances on seat inside Delhi Metro

Aparna Devyal is initially seen swinging on the railing in the metro.

Public transport has completely changed the way people move and travel. City buses and the metro are generally cheap, practical and easy to use. They are also energy efficient. However, when using public transport, it is important to be aware that others are sharing it with you. Must respect public convenience and other passengers. But a video going viral on social media has enraged the social media users. In the clip, a woman is seen swinging from one seat to another using the railing in a metro for fun. Many criticized her for acting in such an odd manner while using public transport.

The video was posted on Instagram by user Aparna Devyal on December 25. In the video, she is initially seen swinging on a railing installed in the metro and moments later, she waves to the camera in a metro coach and blows a flying kiss. Ms. Devyal also dances while standing on the seats in the moving metro. At one point during her dance performance, she felt as if she might fall off her seat. The video appears to have been recorded by an acquaintance as per the reflection seen in the mirror.

Since being shared, the video has collected over four lakh views and 38,000 likes.

One user wrote, “Such things should not go viral.

Another person said, “The seat is for the physically challenged, not the mentally challenged.”

One person said, ‘Inti Khali Metro kaise mil jaati hai’.

Several users urged the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to take action against him. “The metro administration should take strict action against him,” said a person.

Another person commented, “I request the administration to take strict action for the mishandling of activities by such a big influencer and for the possible damage.”

As of now, DMRC has not responded to the video. According to section 59 of the Delhi Metro Penal Code, “drunkenness or disorderly conduct or spitting or sitting on the floor in a train or causing a quarrel” invites a fine of Rs 200, confiscation of pass, ticket and removal from the train.
