Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav ruling the T20 World Cup: Here are the numbers

Some of the biggest names in cricket scored impressive innings during the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup 2022 in an effort to propel their teams to the knockout rounds. The top two scorers in Super 12 were Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav. The list also includes Riley Rossouw of South Africa and Glenn Phillips of New Zealand.

Thanks to his unbeaten 82 against Pakistan as well as other big innings, Virat Kohli has scored the most runs in the tournament so far with 246 from five matches. His average is 123.00 while the strike rate is 138.98. He took over as the top run-scorer in all T20 World Cups, overtaking Sri Lanka’s Mahela Jayawardene.

Suryakumar Yadav, on the other hand, is playing brilliant cricket and making a big difference in the middle order. He has so far scored 225 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 193.96. His highest score is 68 and average is 75.00. But, the records do not end here. Yadav’s strike rate is the highest ever in the tournament.

Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 82 against Pakistan is one of the highest individual scores. Riley Rossouw of South Africa holds the record for most runs against Bangladesh by scoring 109 runs.

Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli are among those who hit the most sixes. While Yadav has scored eight runs so far, Kohli is not far behind with seven. KL Rahul is also in the list with eight sixes.

Rossouw holds the top spot with nine sixes, however, he will have no further chance to take the number further as South Africa are already out of the tournament. He shares the top spot with Marcus Stoinis. But Australia is also out of the World Cup. New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips with eight sixes will have a chance to move up the list.

When it comes to scoring the most 50 runs in the tournament, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav are at the top. Both have scored three runs each while KL Rahul has made it to the list with two 50 runs each. Iftikhar Ahmed (Pakistan), Glenn Phillips (NZ) and Najmul Shanto (Bangladesh) are the other batsmen in this category.

In the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022, India will face England on 10 November while Pakistan will face New Zealand in the first semi-final on 9 November. Both the matches will start at 1:30 pm.
