2021 will be a landmark in the annals of Indian cricket history in terms of the performance of the men’s cricket team in Test cricket away from home. India is enjoying a purple patch in the oldest and longest format of cricket and that too away from home. Under the leadership of Virat Kohli, the team has achieved a lot of success in Test cricket and this year’s hard work has paid off. India started the year with a surprise series win against all odds in Australia, for the second time in a row, followed by a stellar performance in England and finished the year winning the first of three Tests in South Africa.
The year included victories in some of the toughest away spots for the team. India broke two forts this year. He started with a win in Brisbane, Australia’s strongest stronghold, and ended the year by smashing South Africa’s pride at Centurion, a Proteas stronghold for decades. Meanwhile, memorable victories were recorded at the Lord’s and Oval cricket grounds, the oldest venue in England, where the Three Lions have a stellar record.
Former India opener Virender Sehwag celebrated these victories on social media. Sehwag took to Koo to post a message about India’s winning run this year.

Sehwag helped India win many Test matches away from home with his strong batting at the top of the order.
Sehwag retired from the game as one of India’s best Test openers. He scored 8586 runs in 104 Tests for the country at an average of around 50. He scored 23 centuries and 32 half-centuries in Test cricket.
