Former Supreme Court judge Justice Doraiswamy Raju on Monday said good quality education should reach all sections of the society to make the country an advanced nation. After unfurling the national flag, VIT Chancellor G Viswanathan said that India has been one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

“We have to increase productivity in all sectors so that India can compete with the developed countries of the world. India has a demographic advantage of having a large population of youth and to take advantage of this, the state and the Center must provide good quality education to all deserving youth,” he said. Citing the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, which provides for free education to children in the age group of 6 to 14 years, the Chancellor suggested that the age of children eligible for free education should be increased from 3 to 18 years. year should be modified. Hopefully the government will consider his appeal.
