face: Veer Narmad South Gujarat University ,VNSGUThe administration on Wednesday suspended 12 officials of ZF Wadia Women’s College and NK Jhota College of Commerce from examination duty after a 13-member committee submitted a preliminary inquiry report in the alleged paper leak case.

VNSGU has also written to the city police for investigation. The police have started investigation into the incident to find out what exactly happened and whether there was any malafide intention on the part of anyone.
The alleged paper leak incident came to light on April 20 when Vice-Chancellor KN Chavda was alerted that the sealed covers of question papers of five subjects of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce were opened a day before the exam.
“The covers of five subjects were opened a day before the date of examination. But the details were not shared with VNSGU. Hence, the university canceled the exam and started the investigation,” said a VNSGU official.
The official said that it had not come to the notice of the university whether the questions or photographs of question papers were circulated to the students. Recent Trends in BA (Semester 6) Paper 18 and English, Gujarati, History and Home Science Exams of Indian Economy B.Com (Semester 6) Paper 18 was cancelled.
The city police would call the college and VNSGU officials who were involved in the examination process to ascertain whether there was any criminal aspect to the incident.
“Those who call it a paper leak have been asked to provide evidence whether the question paper or questions were in circulation before the examination. But we haven’t been given any proof yet. Hence, the help of the police is being taken,” said Prof KN Chavda.
