Vodafone Idea’s loss narrows to ₹7,145 crore in September quarter

The total gross debt of VIL as on September 30, 2021 was Rs 1,94,780 crore.

Debt-ridden telecom operator Vodafone Idea Ltd (VIL) on Friday reported narrowing consolidated loss to ₹7,144.6 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.

The company had a loss of Rs 7,218.2 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last financial year.

Its consolidated revenue fell nearly 13% to ₹9,406.4 crore during July-September 2021, as against ₹10,791.2 crore in the year-ago period.

VIL’s total gross debt (excluding lease liabilities and including interest accrued but not outstanding) as on September 30, 2021 was ₹1,94,780 crore. This includes deferred spectrum payment obligation of ₹1,08,610 crore, AGR liability of ₹63,400 crore due to the government, and ₹22,770 crore loan from banks and financial institutions.

The company had cash and cash equivalents of ₹250 crore, and net debt of ₹1,94,530 crore.
