Volkswagen Vertus sedan unveiled: Price announced in May – Times of India

Volkswagen India has officially unveiled the Vertus mid-size palanquin During the global premiere today. The pre-bookings for the Volkswagen Vertus begin today at dealerships and online.
The Vertus sedan will be Volkswagen’s second product under its Bharat 2.0 project. Vento’s successor is based on Volkswagen’s popular MQB AO IN platform, which also underpins Skoda Slavia and VW Taigun. The sedan will be available in six vibrant colors – Wild Cherry, Candy White, Carbon Steel Grey, Curcuma Yellow, Reflex Silver, Rising Blue Metallic.
Dimensionally, the Volkswagen Vertus is 4,561 mm in length, 1,752 mm in width and 1,507 mm in height. The sedan has a wheelbase of 2,651 mm and boot space of 521 litres. The Volkswagen sedan is slightly longer than the Skoda Slavia.
In terms of exteriors, the sedan gets a two-slat grille, auto LED headlamps and auto wipers. The Virtus also gets dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels and chrome accents at the front, side and rear.

Inside the cabin, the Vertus sedan comes equipped with features like 10.1-inch touchscreen information display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, fully digital instrument cluster, My Volkswagen Connect, wireless charging, 8-speaker sound system, ventilated front leather seats and more. , automatic climate control and electric sunroof. Apart from this, it also gets 4 USB ports, 12V socket, push start/stop button, height-adjustable head restraint, 60:40 split folding rear seat (on the 1.5-litre TSI petrol variant), cooled glove box, rain sensor, smart- Touch is received. ‘Climatronic’ AC and cruise control.
The Vertus sedan uses two engines – a 1.0-litre TSI petrol and a 1.5-litre TSI petrol. The 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine produces 115 PS of maximum power and 178 Nm of peak torque. The 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine produces 150 PS of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque. Both engines come mated to a six-speed manual transmission, though the 1.0-litre TSI engine is available with an optional six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and the 1.5-litre TSI engine comes mated to an upgraded seven-speed DSG transmission.

The Volkswagen Vertus sedan comes with 40+ safety features, which include six airbags, ESC, multi-collision brakes, tire pressure monitoring system, hill hold control, ABS, rear parking sensors, reverse camera and more.
At launch, the Vertus sedan will compete with the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz and Skoda Slavia.
