Volodymyr Zelensky calls for “democratic breakthrough” amid protests in Georgia

Volodymyr Zelensky supported the Georgia protests and called for a “democratic breakthrough”.

Kyiv:

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday called for a “democratic breakthrough” in Georgia, where thousands of protesters rallied against a controversial “foreign agent” bill, reminiscent of Russian legislation meant to silence critics.

In his address to the nation in the evening, Zelensky said, “There is no Ukrainian who would not wish our friendly Georgia success. Democratic success. European success.”
