On the occasion of International Women’s Day on Wednesday, Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar listed out calling attention motions brought by women legislators.

The subjects listed included farmers’ distress, the non-construction of a flyover in Mumbai, and the expansion of the limits of a municipal corporation, among others.

Presently senior BJP leader and Minister of State Mangal Prabhat Lodha is the head of the Women and Child Welfare Department. Women leaders of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi expressed dismay over the absence of women ministers in the Maharashtra cabinet and demanded the Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis government to include at least one woman minister in its cabinet.
