The Volvo XC40 is the second best-selling model in the company’s line-up.

Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director, Volvo Car India said, “It is very encouraging to see a growth of 48 per cent in three quarters. Experiencing this when a quarter had to bear the brunt of the raging pandemic, it is the position of the Volvo brand in the Indian luxury mobility market. This reinforces our confidence and steadfast commitment as we work towards bringing in new models. We are keeping a close eye on the semiconductor issue and look forward to a strong 2022.”

0 notes

The jump in sales is mainly attributed to lower base last year. The entire country was under lockdown for almost two months to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and like other automakers, the Swedish carmaker also recorded zero sales in that period. Even after the resumption of sales operations, auto sales took some time and substantial growth in sales was registered only during the festive period. Sales are expected to pick up again in the last quarter or fourth quarter during the festive period during the months of October and November this year.
