The clip was posted on the sub-Reddit r/Damnthatsinteresting by Reddit user u/Inside_Ad1436. It has received 4.6k upvotes in less than 24 hours, and the numbers are only increasing. In the video we saw a whole fish being put in a pan of hot oil. For a few seconds, the fish stood still but soon it began to twist and turn in the pan as if it had come to life. The spluttering, spluttering fish splashed oil on the pan and did a lot shocking moment, After this, the person seen in the video took the pan to the sink and waited for it to cool down. “When fish won’t accept death,” read the caption by the original Reddit user.

Several Reddit users shared their reactions to the video. People were very surprised and scared to see the fish alive. “This is absolutely terrifying,” wrote one user, while another said, “I was horrified when they all walked towards the tap with the hot oil.” Meanwhile, some other users were not bothered to see the fish come to life and said it was just a scientific reaction salt and oil.
