The Ministry of Home Affairs directly recruits detectives for the agency. Every year, to select successful candidates, MHA invites applications for various posts. Candidates who qualify for the post will have to appear for a written test and interview. Candidates who successfully qualify both written and interview are inducted into the agency.
The Ministry of Home Affairs also selects its officers from among the officers serving in the posts of Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Revenue Service and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).
Another most important goal of creating the Narcotics Control Bureau was to prevent the consumption and elimination of drugs and other narcotics in India. Narcotics is an intelligence agency. Those arrested by the NCB are prosecuted under Act No. 1985 and Act No. 1988 for investigation and legal enquiry.
