WATCH: 10 million views for radio host’s shocking ‘concrete grow’ comment

TalkRADIO host Mike Graham has gone viral for claiming that concrete can rise.

An interview between a British radio talk show host and a climate change activist is going viral on the Internet after the host said that “concrete can grow” like trees. TalkRadio host Mike Graham began by asking his guest Insulate Britain spokesman Cameron Ford what he was “sticking to” these days. Mr. Ford returned the favor, saying, “Just your screen, unfortunately.” Mr Graham’s derogatory reference to the tactics of climate group activists sticking themselves to surfaces while protesting

The host then asked Mr. Ford, who had not yet completed his answer, what his profession was. “Carpenter,” she replied. Mr Graham asked him how safe it is as a career for the climate. “Well, I work with wood, which is a much more durable material than concrete,” replied Mr. Ford.

It is at this point that the interview took a strange turn.

The journalist reminded the worker that he works with felled trees. The worker politely said that cutting down trees was a sustainable construction practice.

“If you’re killing trees, how is it sustainable?” asked the journalist.

Mr. Ford replied with a straight face – it’s regenerative because “you can grow trees”.

“Well, you can grow all kinds of things, right,” interrupted the host.

“Well, you can’t be concrete,” replied the worker.

“Yes, you can,” retorted Mr. Graham.

The two remained on-air in complete silence for a few seconds. Then the journalist ended the interview. “That was Cameron. He grows trees, then cuts them, and then makes things out of them. Awesome. Amazing. I don’t think I want to talk to any of those people.”

Here’s a video that lasted less than a minute:

The video has so far been viewed over 10 million times, and has been liked over 20,000 times. It has also been retweeted more than 3,500 times. Many said they did not like what Insulate Britain did to the streets, but agreed with their spokesperson on the argument that the trees were regenerative.

Another said he was not sure whether Mr Ford was “hypocritical” for being a carpenter and an environmentalist at the same time.

Others mentioned the journalist’s “you can develop concrete commentary”. One writer, Mollie Goodfellow, took to Twitter to take advice, saying she “had been watering my concrete for weeks, but it’s not flourishing”.

One user said he’s been a builder for over 36 years, but there hasn’t been solid development yet.

Another asked from where he could buy seeds to grow concrete?
