A Bengaluru traffic policeman has earned praise on the internet after risking his life to save a bird. In a video of the incident, a traffic policeman named Suresh of Rajajinagar traffic police station can be seen climbing the hoarding to untie the thread wrapped on a pigeon. The bird flew away after being free. However, the cop didn’t have any safety equipment, which worried many users.

The video was shared by Kuldeep Kumar R Jain, Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police (West), Bengaluru. Appreciating the policeman, he wrote, “The hidden and unseen side of policemen. Well done Mr. Suresh…”

While most users thanked the policeman for his selfless service, others were concerned about his safety. Many demanded harness belts and safety gear for the police.

A Twitter user wrote, “This is beyond the scope of his duty. Please ensure that he is given a suitable award.” Another commented, ”Appreciate the action but not at the cost of safety. Just like you insist on helmets for all riders, similarly safety should be a priority for a policeman. He also has a family at home.
