An on-duty officer of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) rescued a man who fell on the tracks by slipping off the edge of the platform.

We have seen many instances when a policeman or a man in uniform has gone out of his way to help people or save them from dangerous situations. Many such dangerous situations arise when men or women try to board or alight a moving train at normal railway stations or metro stations. Something similar happened on Friday at Shahdara metro station in Delhi. An on-duty officer of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) rescued a man who fell on the tracks by slipping off the edge of the platform.

This man named Shailander Mehta had a very narrow escape as he was walking with his eyes fixed on his phone and without knowing it went to the edge of the platform and fell on his head on the tracks. In the clip shared by the CISF on its social media handle, Shailendra is seen rising but dazed and unable to climb the platform. During patrolling, CISF personnel jumped on the track and helped him lift him safely. Thankfully no train was coming at that time.

The 40-second clip has garnered over 24,000 views and 264 retweets so far. People appreciated the prompt action of CISF personnel which averted a tragedy.

Last December, a Railway Protection Force (RPF) officer saved the life of a woman who lost her balance while trying to alight from a moving express train at Purulia station in Bengal and fell into the gap between the train and the platform.

In the video, two women are seen jumping off the Santragachi-Anand Vihar Express. One of them landed on the platform, while the other went dangerously close to the space between the train and the platform, losing its balance. Then an RPF sub-inspector came running and saved his life by dragging him to the platform in time.
