A mesmerizing drone footage showing a temperature inversion at the Peak District National Park in the United Kingdom has surfaced online and left social media users baffled. Drone pilot Nige Verndale shared the breathtaking footage on Instagram.
The video perfectly captured the temperature inversion at the summit of Mam Tor in the Peak District. According to The Met Office, the UK’s national weather service, temperature inversions, or cloud inversions, are most common in winter. This happens when the warm and cold air masses are reversed. So a cooler layer of air gets trapped under a layer of warmer air, creating haze and less cloud cover over the ground. This can make for a beautiful sight for people looking down from high places such as hills.

talking to BBCMr. Verndell said that he and his companions climbed the hill at 7:30 a.m. and waited for the sun to rise. He said that he was left speechless after making the video.
“It was absolutely fantastic,” said Mr Verndale, “Moments like this are special. Mother Nature has so much to offer and the Peak District has an abundance of beautiful scenery”.
Meanwhile, on Instagram, netizens went berserk with the video. One user said, “This is bloody insane footage dude.” “What a splendid image,” said another.

The optical device rotates the camera at the same speed as the Earth, but in the opposite direction. This has the visual effect of freezing the sky.
