Happy Independence Day 2022: The Burj Khalifa in Dubai was lit with the Indian tricolor flag on 15 August in honor and celebration of the 75th year of India’s independence from British rule. The UAE illuminated the Burj Khalifa in tricolor – saffron, white and green – reflecting the strong cultural and trade bonds between the two countries. The UAE is home to around 3,420,000 Indians. The Burj Khalifa is often illuminated around the world and in the past during Independence Day and Republic Day to express support or mark major events. In April last year, it was illuminated in solidarity amid the Covid-19 crisis. It also flashed the message “Stay Strong India”.
