Watch: Former Pakistan minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed spat on live TV in viral debate

Former Pakistan minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed spat during a live televised debate and footage from the interview took social media by storm. The obscene gesture came after Ahmed was asked a question about Pakistan’s current Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah. Ahmed’s behavior became so aggressive that he spit on live TV, which completely shocked the other participants of the debate and the host.

In his response, he was urging General Qamar Bajwa to rule in Rana Sanaullah. Ahmed talked about the type of language that the current Interior Minister of Pakistan uses to talk to the people. He claimed that no senior military officer of the country would salute Sanaullah, but would spit on him. He said, ‘I would like to request General Qamar Bajwa to rein in Rana Sanaullah. The kind of language he uses, do you think anyone will salute him? Will the security forces salute him? They will spit on him.”

Soon after making the comment, Ahmed spat on live TV during the debate. The footage of the incident was shared online via Twitter by journalist Naila Inayat on Thursday, August 4. He captioned the video, “His new portfolio should be: Ministers for spitting on live TV.” Take a look at the clip here:
