As the country welcomed 2023 with great enthusiasm, food delivery platforms such as Zomato and Swiggy saw a huge jump in orders on New Year’s Eve. Owing to the demand, scores of delivery agents were busy ensuring that the food reaches the customer on time, as observed in the rest of the country. However, they are also worth celebrating. With this thought in mind, a group of friends decided to make their night special by involving their delivery agent in their New Year’s celebration.

A video posted on Twitter by Kishan Srivatsa shows a group of friends celebrating the New Year with a Zomato delivery agent. The delivery agent arrived with his order just when the clock was about to strike 12. So, the group of friends made her cut the New Year’s cake as fireworks were heard in the background. After cutting the cake, the man is seen offering the cake to the delivery agent wishing him a Happy New Year.

The video is captioned as, “We ordered food from zomato last minute around 11 pm and it reached around 12 am so we celebrated new year with zomato delivery partner.”
Unexpected happiness from unexpected people.

The good gesture was loved by Twitter who applauded the men for including the delivery man in their celebration. One user wrote, “This is really well done by you guys.” Another commented, “Great job man.”

Recently, on New Year’s Eve, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal announced that he would be taking a break from his official duties to make some deliveries by himself. Deepinder Goyal revealed in a tweet that he became a food delivery agent for the evening. “Going out to deliver some orders on my own right now. Should be back in an hour or so,” he wrote. He also changed his bio to “Delivery Boy” for Zomato and Blinkit.
