Footage shows an elderly couple being rescued from their burning car
What would you do if you suddenly saw a car turning into a ball of fire on the expressway? Will you stop and help? A video has surfaced on social media in which people are doing this to get an elderly couple out of their car, which came under fire. Terrible footage showed flames rising from the rear of the car, near its fuel tank, and skyward and onto the road. The couple, possibly in their 90s and from Phoenix, were trapped in the vehicle and unable to get out on their own.
The Instagram post also had some pictures showing lakeside fire brigade officials at the scene and dousing the fire. CBS News reported that the accident occurred in the Lakeside area of California..
In the beginning, two passersby came forward to help them – each one trying to pull a person out of the front doors of the car. Others then join in to move the couple to safety.
The old man fell on the road as he was pulled from the front seat and possibly fell unconscious. He could not walk and had to be dragged and put on the road. In the video, the youth who pulled out the driver of the vehicle is seen with burns. He went too close to the fire to protect the old man, who was going wild with the help of the wind.
The woman who shot the video from a vehicle on the opposite side of the expressway repeatedly said in shock, “Oh my god.” She and her male colleague then decided to aid in the rescue effort.

“Absolutely heroic! Wow,’ said Jamie Mitchell.
“Can’t even imagine! God bless everyone involved and it’s so inspiring to see a response like this!” Melissa Langaway Kelly said.
“It’s absolutely unbelievable… do we know the status of everyone involved at this point?” asked Gillian Seifert. All the injured are safe and the elderly couple will be released from the hospital soon.
