The rescue was an astonishing display of bravery as rain ravaged Andhra Pradesh, where 17 people have been reported dead and over 100 missing after the floods.

There are reports of many people being trapped in different areas. National and state disaster relief teams have been deployed to handle the situation and rescue operations are in full swing.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on phone yesterday and inquired about the situation in the state. His office said that the Chief Minister will conduct an aerial survey of the flood-affected districts today.
