Watch: Korean man sings ‘Kabira’ at Indian wedding, photo viral on internet

It is always a great feeling to see people from other countries appreciating and embracing Indian cuisine, dress and culture. In one such recent video, a Korean man impressed people by singing a Bollywood song at an Indian wedding. The video shared on Instagram shows a Korean man named Kim Jaehyon practicing the song ‘Kabira’ by Rekha Bharadwaj and Tochi Raina, and finally consummate it in marriage.

He captioned the video, “I can’t speak any Indian language but to convey my congratulations to the newly married couple @nishant_gawande1 & @pranjali_77, I composed this song.” Although I made a lot of mistakes on stage, I loved and appreciated that everyone loved my singing! Thank you.”

In the clip, Mr. Jaehyo says that he decided to sing Kabira at a friend’s wedding. He started his preparation a month in advance and even recorded Korean songs so that he could learn them. He shows his journey as he works hard to recite and perfect the lyrics of the song.

The clip then fast forwards to the wedding day where Mr. Jaehyun can be seen dressed in a beautiful ethnic outfit. he sits on the stage and sings beautifully ‘Kabira’ as another person assists him on guitar. Meanwhile, the guests can be heard cheering and clapping in the background.

Since being shared on Instagram, the clip has garnered over 3 lakh views and over 50,000 likes.

Internet users flooded the comments section to praise her for her amazing vocals and appreciated her efforts in trying to sing in a new language. One user wrote, “Jayhyeon did a great job! It’s not easy singing in a language you haven’t learned or spoken!” Another commented, “It shows dedication! Another way to show your love and concern! Some people don’t bother to try it because they’re too shy or have stage fright but it’s great to see them get over that barrier!”

A third said, “But you made a good effort in front of so many Indian people, they will surely appreciate your efforts. We Indians love it when someone tries to suit us as we are. Well done dear.” Yet another said, “The effort was worth it! You did really well.
