A person in the United States recently broke the world record for the most pepper consumed in one minute.

According to the Guinness World Records (GWR), Gregory Foster of California set the record after consuming 17 Bhut Jolokia peppers in 60 seconds. He broke the record in San Diego in November 2021 Press releaseHowever, on Monday, he got official recognition.

The GWR stated that the Bhut Jolokia chili peppers are one of the hottest peppers in the world because they contain one million Scoville Heat Units – a measure of the heat of chili peppers and other spicy foods. This means that in one minute, Mr. Foster consumed approximately 17 million Scoville Heat Units.

According to the press note, Mr Foster has always loved spicy food and even grows his own chili at home. He has raised his tolerance level for spicy food over the decades, which is why he is now able to stomach some of the hottest peppers around the world.

“This record effort is a personal challenge to see how far I can push myself and my love of super hot peppers,” said Mr. Foster, “As a chili lover, I want to pursue awareness and enthusiasm.” I’m trying Around super-hot chili. ,

Gregory Foster also holds the world record for finishing six Carolina Reaper chili peppers in 8.72 seconds, as well as breaking the world record for the fastest time to eat three chilies in 2017.

Meanwhile, according to GWR, the previous record was held by vegetarian speeder Mike Jack, who managed to eat three hot peppers back in 2019.
