People often allow a false sense of pride to get the better of them without realizing that such behavior can be harmful to others. Recently, a car owner’s disrespectful behavior towards a gas station employee in China set the internet ablaze. The video was shared with a caption that read, “Throwing money on the ground for a gas station worker.”

In the 50-second undated clip, a black Mercedes car can be seen entering a gas station to refuel. The lady attendant can be seen quickly filling petrol in the car, after which she asks the owner for payment. Instead of respectfully handing him the money, the owner throws some notes on the ground. Though she picks up the note after the car leaves the station, she bursts into tears after feeling insulted. At the end of the video, she can be seen wiping her tears.

Internet users who saw the clip were incensed by the video and criticized the car owner for his rude behaviour. Some even urged the authorities to ban car entry at all gas stations.

Reacting to the incident, a user wrote, “This is very disappointing. Seeing him wiping his tears…. how do people treat someone like this?

The third added, “Why? Why do people need to be mean? there is no reason! Being nice doesn’t cost anything!” Another wrote, “I believe karma catches up with such people… who knows what this lady is going through. I want to hug her, it hurts.” A fifth wrote, “I believe karma catches up with people like this… who knows what this lady is going through. I want to hug her, it hurts.

According to local media, the motorist said that he did not intend to throw the notes on the ground but was in a hurry at the time of the incident. However, people did not agree with the explanation.
