Watch: Monkey Rides on Cat’s Back, Internet Says ‘Best Taxi Service’

Animals are compassionate beings, who are known to show kindness and generosity towards each other. Despite the lack of verbal communication, the animals also share sweet friendships with other animals and help each other when in need. The animal kingdom also has friends in species ranging from birds and fish to dogs and dolphins. An example of this is seen in an adorable video featuring an unlikely pair of animal friends.

In the video, a cat was seen having a happy time with his friend- the squirrel monkey- riding on the streets. The video shows the two walking down the street, with the monkey holding onto the cat’s back tightly. The friends looked very comfortable in each other’s company as they strolled down the streets together. The clip was shared by a Twitter account called Buitengbeiden with the caption, “Taking a free ride.”

The lovely friendship of cat and monkey has won the hearts of people, who cannot live without watching this video again and again. Since being shared on November 14, the video has garnered over 1 million views and over 6700 retweets. Users have flooded the comment section of the post with their heartfelt comments.

One user wrote, ‘This is what the best buds do. They carry each other…” Another commented on their behavior, “This squirrel monkey is exhibiting the universal primate trait of the grasping reflex. In primates, the young cling to the fur of an adult with their hands and feet. Absence in humans, because we no longer have fur on which to cling, this trait disappears somewhere in about six months.” A third said, “The cat is actually getting super alert and defensive, as if She is trying to protect her kittens. It actually adopted Lil Monkey.”
