Watch: Rat crawls on sleeping man in New York subway, internet stunned

After a whole day’s work, people usually get tired and look for places to take a nap before going home. For some people, the bus or subway is the perfect place to nap. Something similar recently happened with a passenger traveling in New York’s subway. However, little did he know what was about to happen next. As the man slept peacefully, a mouse jumped on him, scaring the hitchhikers.

The dated clip was posted to Twitter by @Jazzie654 with a caption that read, “I didn’t know there were rats on the NY Subway or any subway.”

In the 22-second clip, a rat appears out of nowhere and starts climbing at the feet of a passenger who is fast asleep and unaware of what is happening. The rat then sniffs his hand and hops on his shoulders.

When the mouse climbs on the man’s neck, he feels some movement and wakes up from his nap. He gets a little shocked when he sees the rat on his body, but then he calmly stands up and removes the rat from his body.

The video has gone viral, garnering over 7 lakh views, 1,382 retweets and 3,252 likes. While some internet users were stunned to see a rat crawling over a man’s body, some said they had not actually seen rats on the train but regularly saw them on platforms, tracks and tunnels.

Meanwhile, a section of users were surprised to see the man’s calm nature. One user said, “Oh yes. They are omnipresent. But this man – he is the epitome of calm when he finds out. Who would scream and jump and lose in this situation?” Another wrote, “He was amazingly calm. I would have jumped off the train…”.
